Richard Holt has a breadth of experience in commercial litigation and property and business transactions developed over 28 years in full time practice.

Richard practiced extensively as a litigation lawyer with many matters in the Supreme and Federal Courts as well as a number of high profile Full Court and High Court cases. This experience has been invaluable in shaping his attitudes to problem solving on behalf of clients and looking for the most practical and commercially realistic solutions to clients' difficulties.

As a result of this wide-ranging commercial business practice, Richard has developed experience in conducting small and large commercial transactions focused on high-quality work as well as obtaining a cost-effective outcome and result for clients.

Richard has worked on a number of high profile matters including:

All legal work associated with the acquisition of the Holiday Inn Hotel and Shopping Centre site, its construction, the development of the shopping centre and its ultimate sale to Japanese interests.
All work associated with the redevelopment of the Surfers Paradise Bowls Club and home unit building.
In the early 90's substantial work on significant high rise building developments; in the late 80's known as Bayview Shores; and Fifth Avenue at Burleigh Heads.
Property syndication in the mid 90's - the sale of small and large shopping centres.
Conducted a number of Superior Court litigation matters including a stamp duty appeal against the Queensland Government.
The establishment of a number of motor dealership sites on the Gold Coast.
Commercial leasing responsibility for a number of clients who have significant commercial properties on the Gold Coast.

Richard has always enjoyed close working relationships with clients, professional staff and secretarial staff wherever he has worked. He believes in the strength of these ongoing relationships to ensure delivery of legal services in a prompt and professional manner. Richard believes in being available to clients whenever necessary including out of hours contact when required.

Richard's involvement with this community underlies his commitment to the area in which he lives and works. He has lived on the Gold Coast since 1980 and has four adult children. His mother lives on the Gold Coast as do a number of his nine brothers and sisters - the extended family is dynamic and boisterous.
